The humanitarian crisis in Somalia is long-standing and complex due to poverty, marginalisation, armed violence, lack of development and natural disasters.

As of May 2018, 2.7 million people cannot meet their daily food requirements and need humanitarian assistance, while more than half are on the brink of famine. An estimated 5 million children are malnourished, including 48,000 who are severely malnourished and face a high risk of disease and death.

Food Parcels

Our SKT volunteers are working on the ground delivering food packs to vulnerable Somali families, which contain essentials, such as sugar, rice, flour, pasta and milk powder. Over a 1000 food parcels have been delivered to families in Somalia by SKT Welfare.

Water Wells

SKT Welfare took on the task to build water wells in the severely hit regions of Somalia. Due to the remoteness of the areas and lack of access to basic machinery, the wells had to be hand built and took on average 6 weeks to complete. 5 water wells have currently been built in the following areas: Kaayow, Boorame, Kooraar, Minfurey, and Raardawo, with each water well quenching the thirst of approximately 2400 people, as well as animals.

Please help us to save and sustain precious lives in Somalia, today.
