SKT Welfare’s Livelihood Project is extended in other directions. Many women living in poverty, and lacking financial independence, education and choice, and again SKT Welfare has stepped in to help them.
SKT Livelihood Uganda is a vital initiative by SKT Welfare, dedicated to supporting Muslim sisters living in some of the most remote and underserved areas of the Mbale district in Uganda.
These women, many of whom are widows or single mothers, are enduring extreme poverty with limited access to basic necessities, education, or economic opportunities. Their daily lives are marked by hardship, and without intervention, the cycle of poverty continues from one generation to the next.
Through your generous Zakat contributions, we are working to provide these women with the tools, skills, and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
One of the key ways we do this is by helping them set up small shops at a local level — a lifeline that enables them to generate income, support their families, and feed their children with dignity. Whether it’s through vocational training, business support, or access to essentials, our aim is to uplift these resilient women and help them become self-sufficient.
With your help, we can restore dignity, hope, and stability to their lives — turning hardship into opportunity, and despair into empowerment.
Currently, SKT’s Livelihood Projects are focused in Pakistan and Uganda but plans to launch further Projects in Yemen, Syria, Africa, and Bangladesh.
For this expansion, we need your help. Compare your life with these women. Can you honestly say that you lack a roof over your head, fresh running water, a bathroom, a flushable toilet, a bed to lay your head, and food on the table? Imagine your daily life with none of these things. Now imagine the hope of a better future.
Help us to help them - to improve their lives, develop their livelihoods, so that you, with your charity, and we, with our expertise, can work together, re-build their lives, give them the dignity of being self-supporting, and by sustaining their new-found livelihoods, build a future – for them, their families, and their children...
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “The best of charity is when a Muslim gains knowledge and then teaches it to his Muslim brother.”
Women like Salma need your help for a better future. Our Livelihood projects are Zakat eligible but also a Sadaqah Jariah for your Akhirah.
This Ramadan Your Zakat can help Lift Lives out of poverty for generations!
