Urgent Support Needed for Rebuilding in Syria and Turkey
On February 6th, 2023, two massive earthquakes, measuring 7.8 and 7.5 in magnitude, devastated Southeast Turkey and Northwest Syria, claiming over 50,000 lives and upending millions more. Later, a subsequent 6.4 magnitude quake further compounded the disaster in already severely affected regions.
Although all the earthquakes only lasted seconds, the situation has left millions in dire need struggling with the aftermath of the devastation.
A Year On
“A year after the devastating earthquakes that struck Türkiye and Syria in February 2023, the plight of millions of displaced people and their hosts has deteriorated”.
