This year, vulnerable communities have needed support more than ever. With the Coronavirus outbreak, famine, droughts, wars and abject poverty, millions of people have been suffering more than ever before.

Over Ramadan, we asked our donors, supporters, friends, neighbours and members of the UK public to give in the name of Allah, with the sincere commitment that every single penny of your donation will go directly to those in need.

Alhamdulillah, the calls for support made by our brothers and sisters in need was answered with such energy and fervour.

We know that when we give water, we give life. Every drop of water will give a drop of life, helping communities to flourish, children to go to school, men and women to work and everybody to be healthy. Despite the necessity of such a basic thing as water, countless people are dying every day due to thirst and water-borne diseases as they are drinking dirty water. Thanks to the generous donations of our supporters over Ramadan6,000 more people will have access to clean and safe drinking water every single day.

Over 800 million people around the world do not have enough food to eat. But hundreds of our supporters gave generously because it does not need to be this way. With so many generous donations, tens of thousands of more people will benefit from over 100,000 meals. Together we are tackling hunger and making sure nobody goes hungry.

Vulnerable children and orphans were not forgotten by our supporters, and their generosity will help us provide orphan and vulnerable children with the start in life that they deserve. Over 330 orphans and 140 vulnerable orphans have been supported for an entire year! This means we can ensure even more children will have a life free from suffering and pain, with access to excellent education, healthcare, housing, food and extracurricular activities.

11,000 more people will receive medical support in Shaam, or eye operations in Pakistan, also due to the generosity of those who are supporting our work. SKT Welfare has been conducting life-saving medical and food aid projects in Shaam since 2015. Our Al Huda Hospital is providing vital medical services for over 1 million vulnerable people in Shaam who have been facing a devastating civil war for the last 10 years. In Pakistan, we have conducted life-changing eye surgeries helping to restore sight to those facing blindness. Through our medical projects, we spread hope and a bright future.

6,500 people received Fitrana contributions, helping to make this Eid more special than ever, despite the struggles.

NONE OF THESE THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE GENEROSITY AND SUPPORT OF MANY PEOPLE ACROSS THE UK. WE ARE SO HONOURED THAT WE ARE BEING TRUSTED WITH PEOPLE’S INVALUABLE ZAKAT AND SADAQAH.
