Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilayhi raji'un - ‘To Him we belong and to Him we shall return’
On Friday 24th December 2021 a beloved husband, father, father in law, grandfather and uncle Haji Mohammed Younis Moughal passed away.
Muslims believe in ongoing Sadaqah (charity). Sadaqah is any voluntary act of righteousness or kindness that is made with no expectation of anything in return.
The following famous Hadith gives us the good news that even after our death, Sadaqah Jariyah continues to benefit us:
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (SAW) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)
Our father was committed to his community from an early age. In Pakistan, he was asked to take on the role of General Secretary of the district due to his personality and education. He felt he needed to do more to support and improve the lives of his wider family, so he set off to start a new life in the UK.
He worked hard to support his family back home and overtime built a happy and content life in the UK. He spent part of his working life at Dagenham Motors and then went on to retire from the job he loved at the Tate Britain.
He was committed to his local communities, and continued to be a regular member of the congregations at Al Madinah Mosque, Barking and Ilford Islamic Centre.
Our father was a true inspiration for each of his children; Nafisa, Ismaiel, Zairah, Sairah and Aamna. He poured his heart and soul into helping us to strive to do better, do more but more importantly to help humanity through kindness, charity, multiculturalism, socialisation, education and compassion.
He always had a smile on his face and quickly made friends wherever he went. He had the ability to make everyone laugh no matter the situation. He was a man of strong values and it has truly been touching and overwhelming to receive all the heart felt condolence messages from people of all faiths, backgrounds and aspects of society.
He donated to a diverse range of charities and causes and it was in a recent conversation he shared that he wanted to build a Mosque in Tanzania.
We have therefore decided to set up this Sadaqah Jariyah project of building a Masjid in his name as it will provide a whole community with the opportunity to come together, learn and pray in a clean, safe environment.
We have set a target of £8,500.
Our chosen charity is SKT Welfare because they really care about the work they do to alleviate poverty and suffering around the globe. With their 100% donation policy we feel assured that your donation will go directly to the project.
We ask Allah (SWT) to accept this Sadaqah Jariyah for our father, for Allah (SWT) to put barakah in the fundraiser so that we may achieve the target and bring benefit for our father and the communities that he cared about.
Please share this with your friends and family and donate as much as you can. Please also keep our father and our family in your prayers.
JazakAllah Khairan (May Allah reward you with goodness)
