WHO WE ARE:
A dedicated group of young individuals, representing the Grange Pavilion Youth Forum, will be participating in the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 1st to raise funds for Morocco and Libya.
The majority of us are not experienced runners, and tackling a half marathon is a challenge we've decided to take on. Despite our limited experience, we're determined to make a positive difference for the Moroccan and Libyan families affected by the earthquake and floods.
We kindly ask for your generous contributions, no matter the amount, to help us reach our fundraising goal. Additionally, we would greatly appreciate if you could spread the word about our cause by sharing our page. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in supporting families affected by the catastrophes. Thank you for your support!
MOROCCO EARTHQUAKE APPEAL:
Morocco has been struck by a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake, leaving a devastating trail of destruction and claiming the lives of more than 2,680 people.
The death toll is anticipated to grow higher as rescuers search for survivors among the rubble of collapsed dwellings in isolated sections of the High Atlas mountains. Now is the time for us to come together and help the families in Morocco as they need our support more than ever.
The catastrophic floods in Libya have resulted in 5,200 deaths and 10,000 missing. Sadly, the death toll will continue to rise.
LIBYA FLOOD APPEAL:
The catastrophic floods in Libya have resulted in fears of more than 20,000 deaths and at least 30,000 people remain missing.
Storm Daniel has struck the beloved Northern Eastern region of Libya and has left thousands of people without shelter or access to water and electricity. Thousands of civilians are confirmed to have died in the floods whilst homes and buildings have been significantly damaged.
SKT Welfare is closely monitoring the situation and pooling our resources to assist those most affected by one of the worst disasters to hit Libya in years.
Join us in supporting the victims of this devastation, donate to our emergency relief fund to provide life saving medical aid, food and shelter.
OUR GROUP:
HOW YOUR DONATIONS HELP:
£200 - EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND
£55 - ONE TENT
Living amongst dust and insects, families in the village of Moulay Brahim face unimaginable hardship. 600 families are in need of tents, and £55 will provide a tent for one family, offering shelter after this devastating earthquake.
The Charity:
SKT work with marginalised and vulnerable communities including with orphans and widows to help them build better futures. With their 100% donation policy, you can be rest assured that every penny of your donation will go directly to those who need it most.
