Years of war has caused millions to flee their homes in search of safety and left countless people in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
Conflicts in Shaam have meant millions have fled their homes, sometimes in the middle of the night with no possessions, and sought shelter in camps. Their homes are made from sheets of tarpaulin and cotton sheets, and fail to keep out the bitter wind, rain or snow.
As winter approaches, those living in in refugee camps and temporary accommodation fear for their lives. Winter can be brutal, with temperatures falling well below zero and with snow and icy conditions. Without secure housing and combined with the additional pressures and concerns of Covid-19, this will be the worst winter of their lives.
I am trying to raise enough funds to build at least one house for a family with disability left in the make shift camp in Idlib, Syria. With my actions may Allah protect the ummah, my parents and my family.
Living in temporary tents and camps mean women and children are even more vulnerable. Without secure walls, doors or roofs, women and children lack the security and privacy to truly live lives with dignity and honour.
This project is Zakat eligible and also a wonderful opportunity of Sadaqah Jariyah.
