Homes and crops are being destroyed in what is predicted to be the country’s worst storm in 25 years.
Declaring an emergency, the Pakistan government has ordered evacuation of 170,000 people from low-lying areas in the storm’s direct path, with 75 relief camps set up in schools.
Mud and straw homes in coastal communities are the most vulnerable from surging tides, predicted as high as 3-4 metres - with people, and animals in real danger.
SKT Welfare is there now, providing aid, food parcels, water, and shelter.
