Vulnerable communities around the globe are in need of nutritious food more than ever before. As with every country now, Iraq continues to suffer from Covid, with the inevitable impact on food security, agriculture, and with devastating impact on Syrian refugees in Iraq who are already displaced - by situations beyond their control, to uproot, and make a new life, in another place. For them, hunger is part of their daily experience. But you can help.
Iraq’s prolonged crisis remains one of the largest and most volatile in the world. Since 2012, Iraq has generously welcomed Syrian refugees seeking asylum and safety. And is now host to 253,000 Syrian refugees including 154,000 children – 99% of them in camps in the Duhok area of Kurdistan.
SKT Welfare has been providing food across the globe for over 10 years and is on the ground distributing food to Syrian refugees in Iraq.
A £50 food pack can provide food for a family of five for a whole month.
The Iraq government provides food assistance to its refugees through its Public Distribution System, (PDS), but it’s inefficient and suffers shortfalls.
Most vulnerable are the injured, disabled, elderly, chronically ill, widows, and women left to support children alone. Your donations towards Food For Iraq appeal will make a huge difference.
Every food pack for Iraq contains the following items:
Cooking Oil | Rice | Sugar | Lentils |
Tomato Paste | Chickpeas | Dates | Honey |
Cheese | Flour | Red Beans | White Beans |
Your donation of £50 can provide food for a month for a family of 5 in Iraq!
